Hey, didn't you receive an email telling you that it will open June 25th in Montreal? (I think May 25th for Toronto) Anyways, if you stay with public mobile, they will give you a $75 credit to spend on anything they sell. Also, they will give you two more free weeks of service. So your next payment should be August 14th.

Why can't the newbies simply follow a U.S. based system like Net 10 ? 10 cents per minute, all domestic long distance is included in that fee and calls to Canada & Mexico are charged at 15 cents per minute. Keep it simple folks.

When building your network and launching, don't be foolish like Globalive and jump the gun by launching with such poor quality coverage. Take your time, optimize your network, and then start selling phone service. With the comparably smaller coverage area than your competitors, this should make it somewhat easier.

I'm not sure about the DAS, however. Sounds like a shortcut, although admittedly I'm no expert. I know you guys have a lot of money going out right now, and funds are tight, but it'll all be a waste if your network can't hold it's own because you've short-changed yourself with respect to paying for the proper equipment. Good Luck!

Hi Shaun – you’re right, we didn’t explain the acronym DAS. Sorry about that.

DAS stands for Distributed Antenna System, which is a network of antenna nodes that are connected by fibre optic cable in order to provide wireless service within a certain area. Typically these antenna installations are smaller than traditional cellular antenna installations.

DAS type installations work well in urban type environments where our customers will receive a better quality signal (because there are more antennae) when they make calls. If you want to get really technical, we can also talk about reduced fade depths and reduced delay spread as other benefits of a DAS network.

Hope this answers your question.

wow.. DAS instead of real network. would be interesting to see what the end result will be, as DAS nodes usually are used to ENHANCE existing coverage and not act as a primary building block of a wireless access network. i think even with DAS approach need for at least 200 REAL base stations to cover and provide enough capacity in GTA most likely will be required.
