Thanks for all the comments around countries we should add to our overseas long distance plan. The suggestion list is long and includes countries like Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Philippines, Pakistan, Laos, Mexico, Haiti, Turkey and Thailand. We’d love to add all these countries and more.
In building the plan we tried to balance the number of countries (taking into account that each country has a different connection charge, with some being significantly more expensive) against the price of providing the service to our customers. We think we’ve come up with a pretty good mix of both number of countries and cost, but there’s always an opportunity to change and add to the list if we get enough comments and suggestions.

What about Libya! Is there any possibility to be added in the list. There are many students coming from Libya for studied as well as residents and are mainly living in Toronto.Until now ,there is no actual good plan for calling this country.Would you add it to your list please.

Hi Nisa – unfortunately Suriname is not included in our overseas long distance package right now. We’re always looking at countries to add though. We do offer international texting to Suriname as part of our $40 unlimited talk and text plan, as well as prepaid calling cards which will allow you to call Suriname.
Hi Raja, thanks for your suggestion. There are extremly high costs associated with calling Pakistan, which is why this country is currently not included in our unlimited plan. (For more information, please see this blog post:http://blog.publicmobile.ca/blog/2010/07/29/country-suggestions-for-the-unlimited-overseas-long-distance/) However, we continue to look for ways to be able to include Pakistan in our unlimited overseas plan. In the meantime, you can use a prepaid calling card to call this country at a low cost. Also, Pakistan is included in our unlimited texting plan.
How about VietNam?
How about Guatemala?

Laos / Vietnam / Philippines these are going to be the bigger part of the market on its own, for toronto we have a really high asian community. So why not target the bigger market !
Hi Mike, thanks for your suggestion. These countries are very expensive to call for the time being and unfortunately we can’t include them in our unlimited international long distance plan at this time. We do understand the demand and continuously look for ways to include countries like Laos, Vietnam and the Philippines in our unlimited overseas long distance plan. In the meantime, you can use a prepaid calling card to call these countries at a low cost. Also, these countries are included in our unlimited texting plan.
Hello, my husband and son are registered with public Mobile and I will be joining today or tomorrow. For the suggestion of counties I was wondering about SOUTH AFRICA, are there any chances that it will be included and also it will be wondeful to be able to call from Ottawa and from HWY 401.
Best regards.
Hi SMahmood, thanks for your suggestion. There are extremely high long distance connection costs associated South Africa, which is why this country is currently not included in our unlimited plan. (For more information, please see this blog post: http://blog.publicmobile.ca/blog/2010/07/29/country-suggestions-for-the-unlimited-overseas-long-distance/) However, we continue to look for ways to be able to include South Africa in our unlimited overseas plan. We do not currently cover the Ottawa region but it is an area that we are due to provide coverage to. We’ll update you when we get closer to launching our network in Ottawa.
I would like that Algeria wil be added to the list with a good cost. There is a very large algerian community in Canada.
Thank you
How about turkey? im payin $15 every week so i cant wait for you guys to add turkey.pls hury up so i can switch to you guys.also there is a large turkish communty in canada as well.
Hi Ahmet, thanks for your suggestion. International connection costs with phone service providers in Turkey are extremely high, and because of this Turkey cannot currently be included in our unlimited plan. (For more information, please see this blog post: http://blog.publicmobile.ca/blog/2010/07/29/country-suggestions-for-the-unlimited-overseas-long-distance/) However, we continue to look for ways to be able to include Turkey in our unlimited overseas plan. In the meantime, you can use a prepaid calling card to call this country at a low cost. As another option, Turkey is included in our unlimited texting plan.
you guys are giving just landlines free for Australia…..but i mostly do to a wireless number…..tell what will be the charges for calling a wireless number in Australia………or any other cheap way to call a wireless number in Australia….
I would suggest public mobile to find more options for bill payments and makin an online account for customers to pay online rather then calling the call centre for it. Going to the store cost $3 so its costly. Emphasize on getting a better option for bill payments as i hyad to wait for 30 mins yesterday to pay my bill which was the first and last time i waitd so much. Next month if i face the same waiting time then i will stop using public mobile.
Hi Harry, the connection charges between Canada and Australia are just too high to fit in an unlimited $15 plan. We do monitor the connection charges to Australia however, and should they be reduced we will add it to the unlimited overseas long distance plan.
Hi UHD – we are currently working on an online payment system. A $3 fee is applied for monthly payments made at a store because it costs us more when customers pay in store. We cover part of that cost but have to pass some of it on to you. If you want to avoid the $3 fee or paying your bill by telephone, you can sign up for recurring credit card payment which allows automatic payment from your credit card each month.
Hi mass – we’ve forwarded your comment to our customer contact team. Someone will be in touch with you to get the details of your referral and get your credit issued.
hello iam a new customer with public its great really with the offer 35$ but there is somthing else what about adding lebanon to 45 countries would you do it or its expensive like turkey and like that please if u can added and really all the lebanese people in quebec they will be with public mobile like 100.000 person need that thing so iam waiting thanks
