Country suggestions for the unlimited overseas long distance

By david | Posted July 29th, 2010

Thanks for your suggestions of all the countries you’d like to see included in our overseas long distance feature. There were many, many different countries requested (with some of the more popular requests being Haiti and Pakistan). While we are always working to add new countries, we do look at what we are charged to connect these calls, and how we can offer unlimited service for our customers. In some cases it currently just isn’t possible.

We have been able to include 190  countries in our unlimited international text feature, which is included in our $40 talk and text plan.

We’ll continue to work on ways we can add these countries to our overseas calling feature, but in the near future we don’t see a large decline in the costs for calling these countries, so any changes won’t be immediate.

We hope you understand. Thanks again for all your comments and suggestions, we really appreciate them.

Create Group B and C each with new countries.
Calling to Group B costs 20$ a month and to Group C 25$ a month.

Let take a look on Russia – landline only
For city N-Novgorod when I enter the phone ###
    011 7 831 296 1540 everything OK,
    But when I am entering 011 7 831 430 1455
I have “Sorry” from you. Hey It is the same city – just to blocks difference.
    It is like for Toronto
    1 416 296 1540 works OK but 1 416 430 1455 does not work….

  13. Judian says:

You must add Jamaica to the list , Jamaican love to call back home and chat

  14. Veronica says:

why don’t you make all the add-ons available to all plans?! I’m sure there are more people who would like to have the option, and Public makes more money.

the 40$ plan is for those young people who is used to text, but if you think about it, if you can talk unlimited, why would you text?!

fido has 17$ plan that is quite useful, but only unlimited after 5pm, however, i dont call that much during work, so with the system access fee and what not, it comes out the same price, but i had more coverage… i switched to Public because they share info with Rogers who bought them over, and tried so much to ruin Fido by providing annoying services!

  15. Public Mobile says:

@Veronica Thanks for the feedback. Please let us know which add on’s you would like to see on the $24 unlimited talk plan

  19. Celine says:

Can you add Haiti and Ghana to the list of unlimited calls thank you

  20. Public Mobile says:

Hi Jordan – We’d really like to include Jamaica in our unlimited overseas long distance plan, but the connection charges between Canada and Jamaica are just too high to fit in the unlimited $15 plan. We do monitor the connection charges in Jamaica however, so should they change we will add this country to our unlimited overseas long distance plan.

    Many people from Bangladesh
    Please add to list.

    - Will join as soon as availavle.

  22. Public Mobile says:

Hi Montreal, the connection charges between Canada and Bangladesh are just too high for them to fit in an unlimited $15 plan. We do monitor the connection charges to Bangladesh however, and should they be reduced we will add them to the unlimited overseas long distance plan. In the meantime, you can use a prepaid calling card to call at a low cost. Also, Bangladesh is included in our unlimited texting plan.
