This week we updated our coverage maps on Publicmobile.ca, showing what areas we’ll cover by the end of October. You’ll see the areas where coverage has been changing. We’ll continue to keep pushing as fast as we can to expand our network and provide service to more communities.
For this week in Montreal, the Nun’s Island site has been turned on, and we’ll improve coverage on the Nun’s Island as well as in parts of Verdun. In Toronto, coverage is now even stronger around Union Station, the Westin Conference Centre and Queen’s Quay.
Thanks again for all your feedback – we do read all the comments every day, and respond on the blog or personally if we can provide further details or answers to questions.

As we keep adding stores and expanding network coverage, it’s important to have an efficient tool for people to look for the store closest by. So we’ve just added a new feature to our easy-to-use store locator. Now, you can search either by retail partner or by corporate & authorized dealers. So, where do you go to find us?
Right here!

Over the next few weeks, we will be turning on some large coverage areas in both Quebec and Ontario. During the first week of October, South Laval and parts of the West Island in Montreal will turn on as will Mississauga and South Brampton in Ontario.

Gateway Newstand locations have a new look and a new partner. Starting today, the newsstand operator is selling Public Mobile phones and allowing customers to pay their bills at select Gateway locations.
A total of 60 Gateway stores are now co-branded with Public Mobile signs and also provide Public Mobile services. By January there will be a total of 120 stores carrying the Gateway /Public Mobile banner.
The stores feature innovative formats in countertop displays as well as floor stands in the larger locations. There is also a simple self-serve model where customers can select from several available handsets, including the new ZTE-C70 priced at $50. This allows a customer to purchase a phone and a $24 unlimited talk plan and leave the store for under $75. Public Mobile also has a limited time offer that is good at all Gateway locations. Customers receive a discount on all handsets. At Gateway stores that means people can choose between the ZTE C-70 for $50 and the Kyocera Tomo for $80 ($30 off the regular price). The offer ends on October 3rd.

The network build team in Montreal has been building sites in the Laval/North West part of the island of Montreal this week. Areas where we’ve been able to reinforce the coverage include:
- Pointe-aux-Trembles: intersection of Damien-Gauthier street and Sherbrooke street E.
- Quartier latin: intersection of Marie-Anne street E. and avenue de I’Hotel-de-Ville.
- Saint-Henri: intersection of St-Patrick street near Pitt street.
- Tetreaultville: intersection of Paul Pau street and Notre-Dame street E.
We’ve also been constructing a site which will improve coverage on and around the Nun’s Island in Montreal. This should be complete in the next few weeks.
In Toronto, the network team has been building in Mississauga and Brampton to expand our coverage areas. We will keep you posted on when these areas will be up and running.

We have had another week where a lot of work has been done behind the scenes to improve our existing coverage, and we have been building new sites that will let us expand our coverage as well.
In Montreal, we’re continuing to work on covering areas on the island of Montreal, Laval and the South Shore. Our network team was able to reinforce the following areas:
· LaSalle: Intersection of rue Airlie and ave. Stirling
· Mont-Royal: Intersection of chemnin St-Claire and ave. Standstead
· Mont-Royal: Intersection of chemin Churill and ave. Montgomery
· Saint Paul: Intersection of rue Jolicoeur and rue Mazarin
It’s a similar situation in Toronto. We’ve been working primarily in the areas that we’re expanding to in Mississauga and Brampton.
As mentioned last week, we’ll update the maps on PublicMobile.ca that show the new coverage areas as soon as we can.

Going back to school is expensive and many families can’t afford to buy everything their children need to start the year off right.
That’s why we’re giving away 5,000 back to school supply kits for elementary and high school students in Toronto and Montreal.
We identified the most needed items for elementary and high school students and put together specific supply kits for each group: elementary school students will receive a spiral bound notebook and a pencil case containing a pencil, pen and eraser, while high school students receive a scientific calculator. Our goal is to provide school supplies to children who might otherwise go without.
Public Mobile also helps families manage tight budgets by providing unlimited talk and text at a fixed price. Public Mobile’s plans are all unlimited, which means parents will never be surprised by price, no matter how much their children talk or text.
We want to help hard-working families by giving kids the tools they need to succeed. Students can stop by any one of our stores to receive the free school supplies kit (limit one kit per student, kits available while supplies last). Our store locater can be found online at www.publicmobile.ca.
