Guy Lafleur attends our Grand Opening in Châteauguay

By david | Posted December 13th, 2011

What a weekend in Châteauguay! Public Mobile’s newest store is now open and we brought hockey legend Guy Lafleur along to celebrate.

The event was a huge success, with over 250 excited hockey fans in attendance. We handed out cards so that fans could get an autograph although many brought their own memorabilia for Guy to sign! He was also happy to pose for photos with some of our lucky customers.

Have a look at our album on Facebook to see photos of the event!

I’m really upset with Public Mobile, I purchased a new android Max phone a couple of days ago. This was my second phone. I was outside using my phone, and I came inside the house, left it on the table and when I came back to use my phone, the screen was cracked. This probably happened because the glass was cold and warm in the house and the temperature difference caused the glass to crack. I went back to the store, and he accused me of dropping the phone. This is ridiculous, the Max phone is a piece of garbage, and it is the most expensive phone that Public mobile has. I will never use this company again, and I will make sure that everyone knows what happened, whether it’s through facebook, twitter, etc, as Public Mobile is not responding to me nor will do anything for me to remedy this situation.

@Adrian ya you should have not got the max cause the other one is better and cost less

Adrian…although I do realise how much the situation sucks, the point remains that it is a physical damage and nothing will or can be done about it. It might not have been your fault from the temperature changes, but still a physical damage. The warranty is not Public Mobiles warranty, it is the manufaturers warranty and no matter what the reason for damage is, they will not take it back.

Furthermore…with the warm temperatures we have had lately, it is unlikely for the screen to crack. Also, if you were using the phone, your face would have kept the phone nice and warm, and thats on top of the phone itself warming up from usage.

Although not with PMI, I have worked in the cell phone industry in sales and tech support for about 10 years now and I have never seen a legit screen crack from temperature changes.
